From 09 - 12 February, Esrom Immanuel, Minister for Finance, Commerce & Business Development led a delegation to India on his first official visit.
He held a bilateral meeting with Pabitra Margherita, Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles; visited the UIDAI Headquarters and was briefed on India's digital identification initiative and cooperation in development of ID system in Fiji; met the Controller General of Accounts and discussed discussed ways to further deepen the cooperation in Public Finance including asset management, capacity building, budget ecosystem and internal audit; visited the National Small Industries Corporation and explored potential business and institutional cooperation opportunities in the MSME sector.
He also met Apollo Hospital executives in Delhi to discuss potential collaboration in tertiary health care access for Fijians. In addition, he officiated at the MIOT 27th Founder’s Day in Chennai.
