Prime Minister Modi congratulates Fiji on the inauguration of the 1stChildren’s Heart Hospital.
Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, ShriNarendraModi warmly congratulated the Government and the people of Fiji on the inauguration of the Sri SathyaSaiSanjeevani Children’s Heart Hospital in Suva, established by the SaiPrema Foundation (Fiji) in cooperation with the Government of Fiji.

In his remarks on the occasion, Prime Minister Modi said the first ever Children’s Heart Hospital in the whole of the South Pacific region, established with the help of Sri SathyaSaiSanjeevani Children’s Heart Hospital (India) is yet another symbol of the special and enduring bond between India and Fiji and marks a new chapter in the shared journey of both the countries.
3. Highlighting the immense contribution of Sri SathyaSai Baba and his followers to the welfare of the needy and the under served around the world, PM Modi emphasized that the purpose of our resources is to serve humanity. In this regard, Prime Minister highlighted India’s own contribution to the global fight against the Covid Pandemic by supply of life saving drugs, medical supplies and vaccines to countries around the world including Fiji.
4. Speaking on the India -Fiji bilateral ties, Prime Minister said that despite the existence of a vast ocean in between, the two countries are closely bonded together by culture and strong people to people ties. Noting that the bilateral relations have strengthened and grown over the years across all domains, PM expressed the hope that with the cooperation of the Fijian side, the relationship will become even stronger in the times to come. On the occasion, Prime Minister Modi also conveyed his personal greetings to the Fijian Prime Minister JosiaVoreqe Bainimarama, who celebrated his 68th Birthday today.
5. Fijian Prime Minister Bainimarama formally inaugurated the hospital. The event was attended by a large number of guests including Sadguru Sri MadhusudanSai, senior members of the Fijian cabinet, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of international organizations, senior Government officials, health care professionals and large number of Fijian public.
