World Hindi Celebration

The High Commission of India in Suva celebrated World Hindi Day at the Indian Cultural Centre on 22nd of February, 2018. The event was graced by the visiting Honorable Minister of State for Human Resource Development of the Government of India, Dr.Satya Pal Singh, who was chief guest on the occasion. Other dignitaries who were present on the occasion were Assistant Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, HonorableMr. Vijay Nath, former Prime Minister of Fiji, Mr MahendraChaudhary and important members of the Indian Diaspora.

In the programme, 3 distinguished personalities were awarded for their significant contribution in promotion of Hindi in Fiji. They are:

  1. Virend Lal, media personality.
  2. Mr.BimalAvinesh Chand, Head Teacher and Secretary for Hindi Teacher Association.
    3.  Mr SaimoneVuatalevu, famous iTaukei and Hindi singer
